The ET TU Caesar Salad Family Night Dinner Party

Reserving one evening a week, or even one night a month, to get together for dinner with family gives everyone something to look forward to. Your Family Night dinner should be anything but complicated – the point of a weeknight get-together is to touch base with the most important people in your life over good food and perhaps some lively games!

A fiesta is guaranteed fun. Try these easy-to-prepare Grilled Steak Tacos with a side of ET TU Caesar Original salad (Caesar salad was first created in Tijuana in 1924, so it’s actually Mexican!). These tasty strips of flank steak enhance the taco experience and kids will get a kick out of assembling their dinner and being able to choose their own toppings.

Décor

Keep things simple. Forget decorating altogether and liven up your space by using colourful plates, platters and napkins to go with your Mexican fiesta theme. If your children enjoy doing arts and crafts, keep them occupied by having them create multi-coloured, traditional Mexican tissue paper flowers as you prepare the ingredients for the tacos.

Here are some tips on how to make traditional Mexican tissue paper flowers:

Place four pieces of tissue paper on top of each other, making sure that the ends, sides and creases are aligned.
Fold the sheets of tissue paper accordion style, making sure each fold is about one inch wide.
Round the ends with scissors.
Fold a green pipe cleaner in half.
Squeeze the tissue paper in the middle and wrap the pipe cleaner around it, twisting the pipe cleaner to hold the paper tightly. This is the stem of the flower.
Carefully fan out the tissue paper, beginning with the top layer.
